In SAS/ACCESS Interface to PC Files, incorrect code can be generated when you use the Export wizard to export data to an Excel worksheet. This problem occurs when you enter certain information in the following panels in the wizard:

• You enter a worksheet name in the panel titled Assign Name to Exported Panel.
• You enter a SAS program in the panel titled The Import Export Wizard can create a file containing Proc Export statements.

When you attempt to use the EXPORT procedure code that the wizard generates in the SAS program, the following error occurs:

PROC EXPORT DATA= SASHELP.CLASS
   OUTFILE= "c:\sastest\myexporting1.xls"
   DBMS=EXCEL REPLACE;
   RANGE="fred";
RUN;

WARNING: This RANGE statement is not supported and is ignored in Export Procedure. 
NOTE: "CLASS" range/sheet was successfully created.

The workbook is created successfully, but the incorrect code generates the wrong name for the worksheet. In this case, the worksheet will be named CLASS instead of FRED.

To resolve the problem, change the RANGE= option to the SHEET= option, and the workbook will be created correctly.
